BOA Editions publishes poetry, short fiction, and poetry in translation. Each year, BOA publishes 10-12 new titles to inspire, excite, and incite readers around the globe.
Established in Brockport, NY, in 1976, BOA fosters readership and appreciation of contemporary literature. By identifying, cultivating, and publishing both new and established poets and authors of unique literary talent, BOA brings high-quality literature to the public. BOA emphasizes the work of marginalized, experimental, and minority writers whose voices may otherwise not be heard. Support for this effort comes from the sale of its publications, foundation and grant funding, and donations from individuals like you!
BOA is dedicated to enhancing the landscape of modern American literature and, over the past 42 years, has published more than 300 titles, enriching the lives of readers and students locally, nationally, and globally. BOA books and authors have received prestigious literary honors including the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. BOA titles are adopted by professors at universities nationwide and countless individual poems are selected for classroom discussion or for reprinting in anthologies and textbooks. BOA also donates several hundred books each year to local and national organizations seeking to build their literary libraries or expand reading and literacy programs.
