Sooner or later every marriage ends either through death or divorce. In the US new widows and widowers number 800,000 annually. Half of US marriages end in divorce. For every divorce, two adults grieve.
Whatever the cause, the loss of a spouse is one of the greatest catastrophes a person can know. The ripples of this profound loss reach to every corner of the community impacting contributions to family, church and employer while the grieving person attempts to find order and purpose in life.
Beginning Experience helps separated, divorced and widowed individuals make a new beginning in life. The Beginning Experience Weekend Program is presented by a team of people who have suffered the loss of a loved one and are willing to share their own experience to help others. Team members lead participants through a program of presentations, personal private reflection and small group sharing. The Beginning Experience Weekend is designed to be a time of closure on the past and renewed hope for the future.
Beginning Experience also sponsors a ten week Rebuilding support program. The program is comprised of reading and small group sharing. Participants receive hope, encouragement and support knowing they are not alone in their journey.
Beginning Experience is a non-profit, volunteer based organization. We keep our program fees to a minimum and provide scholarships to those who need financial assistance.
