Breast Cancer Coalition

The Breast Cancer Coalition (Coalition) is a grassroots, community-based organization dedicated to eliminating breast cancer through action and advocacy. Our mission is to cultivate community among those touched by breast or gynecologic cancer; to empower informed decision-making through education, support, and advocacy; and to advance research in our region with the goal of eradicating breast cancer. We offer a variety of education and support programs to those living with a breast or gynecologic cancer diagnosis. All of our programs are offered free of charge. Your gifts to the Breast Cancer Coalition fund "Brown Bag Friday" support groups, the PALS (Peer Advocates Lending Support) program, healing arts classes, education seminars, writing workshops, the parent networking group, the Young Survivor Soiree and more. Our Advocacy Committee works diligently to create and maintain relationships with local, state, and national officials so that we may have opportunities to advocate for and lend support to breast and gynecological cancer relevant bills and public policies. Our work also focuses on reducing risks to toxic exposures. Gifts to the Coalition also help to support breast cancer research in Central and Western New York. Our Research Initiative provides grant funding for breast cancer research areas prioritized by the Coalition including: Cause; Prevention; Metastatic Disease, Cure. The Coalition’s Research Initiative has awarded more than $850,000 to area researchers since 2003.
