Cameron Community Ministries Inc.

Cameron is an urban community center with a mission to work with neighborhood residents and partners to create a vibrant and thriving community through empowerment and advocacy while meeting basic needs. We offer many programs including Youth and Teen Afterschool and Summer Programs, a free Hot Meal Program that serves lunch Monday-Friday, an Emergency Food Pantry, and a Clothing House that serves community members in need of clothing and housewares. Our vision is to create an equitable and empowered community. Our Kitchen and Clothing House help to meet basic needs in our community. The Kitchen offers a free hot lunch five days a week and the pantry provides groceries to families every thirty days by appointment. Last year (2021), nearly 14,321 meals were served and 450 households accessed the Food Pantry. The Clothing House provides clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and cleaning supplies to families every thirty days by appointment as well. Cameron’s Youth and Teen Programs are academic and enrichment-focused afterschool programs that serve youth and teens grades K-12th. Students receive homework assistance, are engaged in fun and educational activities, and are served snacks and a meal. These programs strive to bridge the academic and social-emotional achievement gap that youth and teens living in poverty face. It is a safe place for students to go after school and in the summer. Participants receive academic support as well as leadership and life skills programming to promote individual growth. Funds raised will help with valuable programming. Every dollar counts in making a difference in the lives of community members in need!
