Our child/family centered agency comprises five sites- Penn Yan, Geneva, Seneca Falls, Canandaigua and the Children's Center at the Yates County Courthouse. With a staff of 33 we annually serve over 2000 families and children through a variety of programs for parents and child care providers!! CFR provides a broad range of services and programs which offer parents and child care providers opportunities for understanding the roles of parents/providers and the needs of infants and children. Our parenting groups, Healthy Families program, supervised/coached visitation and workshops support teen, new and experienced parents as they begin or continue their parenting journey. Children don't come with instructions and our programs offers parents skills for taking care of their babies, helping them understand child development and giving them the tools to help their child grow and develop healthy families! The Children's Center at Yates County Courthouse provides a safe space for children while their parents attend to court business. Our Together Time program not only provides a great play and learning environment for children of all ages, but also offers parents the chance to interact with other parents, discuss parenting issues and gather resources and skills to support parenting skills. Our Parent 2 Parent groups in Geneva and via virtual platforms provides child development information, children's nutrition information, parental peer support as well as breastfeeding and nutrition support to new/expectant moms. Families in need of resources i.e. support services, car seats, port-a-cribs, diapers, safety gates etc. can contact our offices for assistance. We also support parents through free child care referrals and information of help paying for child care when they need to work. Not familiar with child care regulations? CFR provides education and referrals to parents seeking care as well as training and support to the child care programs across our service delivery area, including registering and monitoring programs, offering on-site technical assistance, providing sponsorship of the Child & Adult Care Food Program and assisting providers with improving the overall quality of child care.
