Children's Institute

Joining together to raise every child’s complete well-being Children’s Institute helps children and adults with cost-effective and research-proven preventive strategies centered on social and emotional development, raising every child’s complete wellbeing individually and collectively – and in a manner responsive to culture and equity. Together, we can all help this moment of great challenge for children to become a moment of great growth for all, through such offerings as: • Systematic screening of children’s social and emotional adjustment in K-3 classrooms (Primary Project) and comprehensive developmental needs in Pre-K settings (Get Ready to GROW) that optimize child professionals’ and parents’ time. • Play-based intervention led by paraprofessionals that is highly effective in resolving children’s moderate risk behaviors in K-3 classrooms (Primary Project) and behavioral supports and consultation in Pre-K settings (Behavioral Supports for Children). • Systemic integration of social and emotional learning in schools and with parents to universally promote children’s wellbeing across their developmental continuum (Whole Child Connection and the Rochester Area Parent Program).
