Duffy's Friends

Duffy's Friends has been rescuing since founded in the year 1998. . Each dog taken in by our rescue is placed in a loving foster home until the "matched" forever family is found. Many of these dogs have never known love, regular and healthy meals, toys, a warm bed, or a vet visit. Almost every dog in Duffy's care is in need of medical assistance (spaying/neutering, heartworm prevention, and too often heartworm treatment, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and other medical needs). It is not uncommon to spend hundreds of dollars on a dog before it is adopted. Every application to adopt is carefully screened and Duffy's folks access the dog's needs with the potential home. Duffy's Friends is a nonprofit shelter that takes on hardship cases which include dogs that are challenged with a sickness, behavioral problems, or lack of training. . A complete vet check for prior pet ownership is completed during the adoption process. A home visit is the next step to ensure that each pet likes the new incoming pet and each family member is matched correctly. We are a firm believer that the entire family meets with the dog. We have an excellent success rate with our adoptions and without the donations from kind people, we could not help the dogs and cats that are in our program.
