EnCompass: Resources for Learning

EnCompass: Resources for Learning (EnCompass) is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization that provides innovative educational services to students who struggle to learn and to the families, schools and professionals that support them. These services are matched to each student's unique learning style in order to achieve success and enhance lifelong learning. EnCompass brings together Norman Howards School's proven educational practices with the broad expertise of local professionals, creating a network of services to support students, families and professionals in Rochester and its surrounding counties. EnCompass is passionate about supporting students in the least restrictive educational environment possible. For those students who can flourish in the general education classroom, EnCompass supports the teachers and families in order to make learning a success. EnCompass' in-house staff includes education experts with extensive experience helping students succeed. In addition to these experts, EnCompass taps into a broad community network of affiliated medical and mental health professionals whose diagnostic and treatment skills add to our ability to support students with complex needs. In working with students, families, and professionals, EnCompass takes a comprehensive approach to supporting success. Parents, teachers, physicians, psychologists, therapists, and any number of other people may play essential roles in helping a student to learn. Any of these people may need information, ideas, or fresh perspective to maximize their effectiveness. EnCompass provides options that complement the services these professionals already offer and ensures that everyone in the learning process has the necessary tools to foster and encourage progress.
