EquiCenter is a premier accredited member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) that uses a wide range of therapeutic equestrian and related programs to foster the personal growth and individual achievement of children and adults with disabilities, veterans, at-risk youth, and their families. Our current programs include therapeutic horseback riding, horsemanship, therapeutic horticulture, canine-assisted activities, adaptive yoga, and farm-to-table culinary classes. Our therapeutic riding program utilizes the multi-dimensional movement of the horse to provide a unique and motivating therapeutic activity. All of our riding lessons are taught by PATH certified instructors. Riders in our therapeutic riding program participate in structured classes to improve flexibility, motor skills, balance, muscle coordination, strength and increase self-esteem and confidence. EquiCenter offers a variety of programs to help veterans heal from the physical and emotional scars of war, including Mission Mustang©. Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) are often hyper-vigilant of their surroundings and struggling to find purpose and mission. To help them integrate back into civilian society, we partnered with the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to develop Mission Mustang©, a national program that pairs veterans battling PTS with captive mustangs experiencing the same feelings of loss and anxiety. Under the guidance of professional mustang trainers, the veterans gentle the mustangs and - as they teach the horses and prepare them to find new homes – these same men and women find themselves. In addition, EquiCenter offers a wide range of non-equestrian therapeutic activities to fit the equally diverse needs of our community. Our programs include therapeutic horticulture on our 3-acre organically-grown farm, canine-assisted activities, adaptive yoga, and farm-to-table culinary classes.
