Family Promise of Ontario County Inc.

Our mission is to help families experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. In the 2018-2019 school year, 346 children were homeless in Ontario County. The 346 includes children 5 – 18 years old but does not include children under 5 years old (50% of homeless children are under age 5). In 2019, 73 homeless families sought housing assistance from the Ontario County Department of Social Services. Currently, there are no homeless shelters in Ontario County for children and families. Family Promise of Ontario County Inc. delivers comprehensive support and services through professional casework management and collaboration with other agencies. Services include help finding secure, affordable independent housing, help in finding a job, navigation of healthcare programs for all family members, development of financial literacy and securing reliable transportation – all provided at no cost to the client. Family Promise of Ontario County is a unique, efficient, cost effective and successful means to address the issue of family homelessness in our county.
