Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc.

Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service Inc. (GVAS) is a combination volunteer/career agency. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and bound by their by-laws. From its inception in 1964, GVAS’ service area has grown from its humble beginnings in a converted house, to a 3 base operation which now serves the towns of Gates, Ogden, Parma, the Village of Spencerport, and a small portion of Churchville. This area covers 56,000 residents within 62 square miles, and that number is growing. In 2020, we responded to over 7200 calls for service. In 2021, we are seeing an almost 25% increase in calls for help. In addition to responding to emergency calls, GVAS serves the local community with CPR and Stop the Bleed classes, community education talks, blood pressure clinics, car seat inspections, and sporting event standbys. Further, GVAS strives to maintain a high standard of care from our providers by offering continuous training and access to state of the art equipment. GVAS is committed to the health and safety of the community it serves.
