Protecting special places outdoors
From wildlife habitats to family farms, from trails to open spaces, Genesee Land Trust has protected over 6,000 acres and 20 unique places to visit, including:
- Gosnell Big Woods in Webster
- Corbett's Glen Nature Park in Brighton
- Cornwall Preserve in Pultneyville
- Macyville Woods Nature Preserve in Sodus Point
In the City of Rochester, we helped to create the Thomas R. Frey Trail at El Camino and Conkey Corner Park.
Farmland Protection: We work with local farm families to conserve their land, ensuring the production of local food, protecting 3,300 acres of working farms in our region.
Youth Employment: Year-round Environmental Ambassador program for youth to explore our local environment.
Genesee Land Trust was founded in 1989 by Rochesterians concerned about the loss of green space in our community. We are proud to be Rochester's local land trust, working in Monroe and Wayne counties and portions of adjacent counties. Thanks to Genesee Land Trust supporters and friends we have been able to protect over 6,000 acres throughout the region! Check us out and follow along on social media.
Thank you so much for your support.
