Horizons at Harley

Believing in the potential of all children, Horizons at Harley partners with students, families, and schools from the city of Rochester to cultivate academic success and lifelong joy in learning through summer education programming and Saturday academy enrichment throughout the school year. Founded in 1995, Horizons makes a nine-year commitment to 140 Kindergarten through 8th grade students from low-income families in the city of Rochester. Horizons students spend six weeks each summer on the campus of The Harley School engaged in a full-day program that blends high-quality academics with cultural enrichment and typically make two to three-month gains in math and reading. Horizons also operates 6-week Saturday academy sessions in the fall and spring. The program is proven to close the opportunity gap through long-term, deep engagement with students and families. More than 95% of our 8th grade graduates have gone on to complete high school and more than 70% have gone on to higher education. Horizons transforms the way students see themselves and their future.
