Ibero American Action League

Ibero is a dual-language human services agency that ignites the potential of individuals and families to prosper and make the community stronger. We serve people of all backgrounds with the unique ability to target the Latino community. Family service assistants work with children, youth and parents simultaneously to ensure the entire family unit is strengthened. We prepare children for school, offer academic, health and social support to youth, work directly with parents and with individuals with developmental disabilities. Our Early Childhood Center has a parent engagement rate of 95 percent, the highest attendance in Monroe County and serves as a national model. Within five months we received five awards in our Children and Youth Services divisions from Action for a Better Community, Monroe County, and the City of Rochester: Moving Families toward Self-Sufficiency, Facilitating Parent Volunteerism, and Enrolling Individuals in a GED program. Our work is building stronger families, leading them to greater self-sufficiency and contributing to a reduction in poverty among the families we serve. Parents are securing solid employment, pursuing college degrees and becoming first time home owners.
