The National Kidney Foundation serving Upstate and Western New York is a lifeline for all people affected by kidney disease in the 18-county region of Upstate and Western New York. Kidney disease is the largest public health issue you never hear about! Due to the increase in high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and a family history of kidney disease, the numbers of chronic kidney disease patients have sky-rocked locally and nationwide. Currently in Upstate and Western New York there are over 240,000 individuals with kidney disease. Among this number there are 4,000 currently on dialysis - three days a week, four hours a day.
NKF provides a continuum of services and programs that promote kidney health right here in our local community. Our model focuses on Awareness, Prevention, and Treatment that reaches all at-risk and affected individuals. Thank you for supporting the local Kidney Foundation!
