PAWS Youth and Advocacy Center

Mission:To bring the resources for heightened awareness & tools for success to youth in city communities & their surrounding areas through various enrichment programs focused around wellness, education, sustainability, & a healthy human-animal bond Currently, Phase I of our 10,000 square-foot Youth and Advocacy center is complete with a sensory gym containing therapy grade equipment designed to benefit those with Autism and/or various sensory disorders. Also our Yoga and Meditation space is open. Phase II will be underway early 2022. Programs and experiences PAWS currently offers and will offer in the near future: Exercise & Sports: Promote a healthy and active lifestyle by providing youth access to exercise programs, sports, yoga and meditation to promote overall physical and mental health. Arts: Ignite learning and self expression in youth, and inspire positive change through various art initiatives. Wellness & Nutrition: Inform and empower youth to develop a healthy, sustainable lifestyle encompassing a vegan diet, alongside a compassionate mindset toward animals, our planet, themselves and others. Sensory space: A sensory gym equipped with therapy-grade equipment Educational Initiatives: Provide youth hands-on life-skills experiences and access to resources such as tutors, computers, books and tools as a complement to school education. Animal Education: Connect youth directly with animals and information to transform how animal-human relationships are viewed. Mentor-ship: Give the youth access to successful individuals whom they can relate to and lean on for strategic guidance. Trades/Careers: Through union partnerships, introduce youth to various skilled trades in order to identify potential passions and set career goals. Technology: Supply youth access to computers, coding programs, tablets, etc., for an edge in our ever-changing digital environment. Entertainment: Provide youth a safe environment to enjoy free time with access to video games, movies, board games, events, etc.
