Pegasus Early Music

Now in our 19th season of acclaimed early music performances in Rochester! Performed on period instruments with commitment to historical style, our concerts feature world-class professional artists from Rochester and around the globe. Pegasus: • expands the definition of early music through concerts and opera in a variety of early music from medieval to Romantic eras, • explores underrepresented composers, • develops new audiences, • involves the community and young artists with educational and outreach programs, • advocates for performing artists, and • collaborates with other disciplines. Founded in 2005 with 501(c)3 status in 2007, Pegasus has produced more than 100 different concert programs. In 2013 we began an on-going collaboration with Ithaca’s NYS Baroque, expanding our concerts throughout the Central New York region. Our Young Artists series, Pegasus Rising, mentors and promotes emerging professionals in the field while building new audiences for early music.
