R Community Bikes

R Community Bikes, an all volunteer organization, collects, repairs and distributes bikes, free of charge, to adults and children in the Rochester community. We also repair bikes for that same population. We give away 2500 bikes per year. We are housed in one of Rochester's poorest areas at 226 Hudson Avenue. Our recipients come to us from more than 50 agencies including shelters, drug and alcohol rehab programs, schools, churches employers and even refugee programs. One of the many side benefits of our program has been keeping used bikes out of area landfills. To date we have kept 150 tons of bikes in use and out of landfills!!
