Rochester Area Community Foundation

Among the largest of 770 community foundations nationwide, Rochester Area Community Foundation invests in our eight-county region to make it a better and more equitable place to live, work, and play — for everyone. The pandemic has been devastating to individuals, families, and communities here, across the country and around the world. Locally, the ripple effects of the coronavirus and mandated shutdown brought into sharp focus the main reason for the Community Foundation’s existence — building an endowment for our region’s current needs and ensuring that resources are available for unanticipated and evolving needs of the future. Those forecasted future needs became a reality in 2020 and endowment became the hero. That’s because the foresight of many donors who established endowed funds years and decades ago provided the capital to urgently and immediately address critical needs that became apparent within days and continued throughout the first year. For ROC the Day 2021, all contributions to the Community Foundation will be added to the General Endowment Fund. This will allow the Foundation to support effective and innovative nonprofit programs and, when a crisis arises, be able to direct resources where and as soon as they are most needed. Investing with your Community Foundation gives you an important role in creating and sustaining more equitable and vital communities across our region.
