Rochester City Ballet

Rochester City Ballet is a professional ballet company and 501(c)3 nonprofit organization presenting performances and events throughout Upstate NY and the Finger Lakes Region. Celebrating its 35th Anniversary in the 2022-23 season, RCB’s mission is to create inspiring, entertaining and educational experiences through the art of dance while providing the highest level of artistic and technical excellence. Historically, Rochester City Ballet reaches nearly 20,000 audience members and offers more than 3,000 children and adults the opportunity to experience dance through education and community programs. The company has developed a reputation for its excellence, versatility, and singular repertoire, which includes award-winning ballets and masterworks performed at the Theater at Innovation Square, Fort Hill Performing Arts Center, Nazareth College Arts Center, Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, the Auditorium Theatre, the Clemens Center in Elmira and Canandaigua Academy. RCB is committed to enriching the quality of life in the greater Rochester region. In May 2015, RCB was the first ballet company in NY State, one of the first in the nation, and still the only local professional arts organization to offer a free, annual Sensory-Friendly (S-F) performance for families with a child or children on the Autism spectrum, with Down’s syndrome, and similar sensory-related needs, as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities. These families get to see their children learn, smile, and enjoy a live, professional arts performance as any other neuro-typical child would, together as a family. For numerous years, the company has performed for the Rochester City School District, as well as taking dance into the schools through interactive performances and creative problem-solving workshops. We continue to team with other arts and community organizations to bring dance to life for Rochester and beyond. RCB’s exciting journey of growth continues and we invite you to stand beside us along the way. Thank you for your support!
