"I am not a musician. But I love to listen to music and in listening I've come to think of it as a necessary part of life."- George Eastman, founder of the RPO
Since 1922, the RPO has filled Rochester with the sound of music. Despite an ever-changing economic climate, the RPO continues to serve nearly 150,000 people through ticketed events, education and community engagement activities, and concerts in schools and community centers throughout the region. Presenting over 200 concerts per year—everything from Beethoven to Broadway to The Beatles—the RPO is committed to enriching and inspiring our community through music. The RPO will be celebrating 100 years of serving the Rochester community in 2023, and your support has allowed the RPO to flourish in a small city, and your continued support will allow us to make music for another hundred years.
The RPO reaches more than 40,000 people each year through its education and community outreach programs. Our Tiny Tots, Primary, and Intermediate concerts help foster a strong appreciation for the arts in our community's youth from the very beginning. Each year, the orchestra performs free concerts at schools, places of worship, and other community venues, seeking to provide everyone in our community with the opportunity to experience the music.
Your support allows us to grow and expand such initiatives, ensuring that our community's vibrant culture continues to resonate. Just $5 will allow one child from the Rochester City School District to attend our educational concerts. Your donation to the RPO is not only a statement of support for the arts—it's an investment in the future of our community.
