Sobriety Sounds

Sobriety Sounds wishes to create a safe and sober space for people in addiction recovery. Our focus will be to make musical instruments, writing space (desks, free notebooks/pens), recording equipment, and music education consistently accessible to the addiction recovery community. Our overarching goal is to obtain a space of our own where we can effectively serve our mission, but that isn't stopping us from helping the addiction recovery community in the meantime. In the short-term, we bring instruments into rehabilitation centers for group jam sessions and are in the process of setting up satellite locations. These satellite locations are hosted by existing nonprofits whose mission aligns with ours. They consist of a full recording setup for people in addiction recovery to create and record their work, along with a few instruments. These satellite stations have access to workshops centered around what is available on the Sobriety Sounds laptop they use. Each satellite is part of a network that can collaborate and learn together on their audio projects. Once we have our main space our services will expand significantly. Each seat will be a full station consisting of a writing desk, free notebooks/pens/pencils, amplifier, music stool, music stand, and instrument stand. We have an ambitious goal of having our own stage for gig practicing, acoustic room for louder instruments, group room, recording studio, instrument repair station, and will offer a wide range of instruments to play and learn on. We will be able to help teach valuable skills that can lead to employment in the gig industry, instrument repair, and audio production. For those who feel like they’ve lost their creativity, don’t have access to instruments, or who want to collaborate with like-minded people, Sobriety Sounds is for you. We have the tools for you to record and create!
