St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center

Opened in 1993, the Neighborhood Center is an incorporated ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, providing primary medical care, dental care and mental health counseling to more than 3,000 people each year who have difficulty accessing health care. More than 200 volunteer physicians and mental health counselors, specialists and support teams provide care to patients from Rochester and eight surrounding counties. Medical services include primary care, complementary care, diagnostic radiology, dental, eye care, hearing, women's health and mental health counseling. More than 70% of the people who come to the Center for care are employed, but do not earn enough to afford their health care. The Center is open five days and three evenings per week to accommodate working people. Neighborhood Center staff can also help assess insurance options and other services that may be available. The Center is funded wholly by donations and modest (sliding-scale) client fees. We are most grateful for volunteers and generous community support, which has enabled the Center to operate for twenty-five years and counting! For more information, call 585-325-5260.
