Student Arts Foundation provides students with opportunities and resources to empower their creative goals. To accomplish this, Student Arts Foundation gives local youths an outlet for creative self-expression and access to the tools, resources, and providers to develop and showcase their talents. Since our inception in 2014, we have worked to fill in the gaps in Rochester communities where arts education and emersion are lacking or unavailable. Our mission also supports the New York State Council on the Arts’ mission of preserving and expanding the rich and diverse cultural resources that are and will become the heritage of New York's citizens by providing more students access to art education and programming.
As members of the Rochester community and former arts students, we recognize the need to build equity within the arts from an early age, with a particular focus on empowering and uplifting students from traditionally underrepresented communities in our city. We understand the challenges of economically disadvantaged households and how underrepresented communities don't always have access to art programs due to social and economic circumstances. That's why Student Arts Foundation is big on removing common barriers for students and families via our transportation assistance, financial support, and mentorship initiatives to ensure opportunities within the arts are accessible to all.
