World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to empower the local church to serve the most vulnerable. For over 75 years, across 100 countries, we have been tackling the world’s greatest problems with holistic, locally-driven solutions that lead to lasting change — whether in response to disasters, extreme poverty, violence, oppression or mass displacement and immigration.
World Relief’s work in the United States, specifically, focuses on coming alongside refugees and other immigrants in vulnerable situations as they rebuild their lives in a new country.
At World Relief Western NY, we’ve been partnering with churches and organizations across the region since 2018, helping them join in God’s plan to bring lasting change to our world. Our primary program is resettlement, providing key services to refugees during the first three months after they arrive. This includes but is not limited to housing, employment, education, language, health and mental health, financial assistance, materials goods, transportation, and community connections.
Of course, it takes most people far longer than six months to fully adjust to life in a new place, and refugees are no exception. That’s why World Relief specializes in mobilizing local partners like you to welcome, befriend and serve their new neighbors both during and after the initial service period. With your help, we can continue to come alongside refugees and immigrants as they begin their journey on the path to belonging.
Thank you for coming alongside refugees and other immigrants as they rebuild their lives in Rochester!
