Worldwide Documentaries, Inc.

Worldwide Documentaries was founded in 1985 as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit documentary film company. For over 35 years, Worldwide Documentaries has been recognized throughout the international human rights community as a pioneer in distribution, awareness, and social impact strategies that enable films to be effective and sustainable agents for social change. The ‘theory of change’ behind all of our films mimics the longstanding belief and experience of the WWD team: if people see a film that moves them, touches their hearts, and stirs compassion, then given an opportunity to take action, they will. In February 2021, Worldwide premiered "Oh Mercy - Searching for Hope in the Promised Land," a 12-minute documentary short about the plight of forced migrants and refugees on the US / Mexico border. The goal of "Oh Mercy" is to humanize the immigration conversation and move it from the current isolationist tone to one of compassion. To give a face and a voice to the victims that suffer under inhumane conditions on the border. Since its release, "Oh Mercy’s" impact has been remarkable and immediate, and its continued distribution is not only necessary, but crucial. Due to recent developments— including the decision to continue the exclusionary immigration policies of Title 42 and MPP, and the unwillingness of Congress to prioritize immigration reform— the demand for "Oh Mercy" is now greater than ever. Individuals, advocacy NGOs, religious organizations, educational institutions, and hundreds of individuals and advocacy groups across the nation— have all been in touch with us lately with requests, ideas, and action plans that in one way or another involve "Oh Mercy", and its collateral materials and initiatives. Your donation will allow us to act quickly to provide free access (no cost) to the film to those organizations and individuals in need of an awareness communication tool on this critical issue, and provide much needed general and operating support.
