National Warplane Museum

The National Warplane Museum is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and operation of vintage and historical aircraft, particularly aircraft associated with World War II, the Korean War and the Golden Age of Aviation. The museum honors the military personnel and their families for their service and sacrifice in the War Eras. Founded in the 1980s, the Museum continues to promote and encourage the appreciation of military and civilian aviation, aeronautics and aviation history. The facilities and 5,000-foot grass runway are located adjacent to the picturesque village of Geneseo, NY. The National Warplane Museum serves the community by: *Sponsoring the annual Geneseo Airshow highlighting warbirds and current military aircraft *Hosting aviation events including rocket meets, model airplane meets and others *Hosting events with ROTC, National Guard, and others *Developing and hosting education events for young people including the Tuskegee Airmen education program, education programs with the Rochester City School District and other local school group tours *Offering a historical-related musical drama production for the community (Bombs & Blooms) as well as war-era musical programs *Maintaining a historical aircraft library collection for the community *Encouraging cooperation with local college students for history projects
