Established in 2001, the Rochester Housing Development Corporation (RHDFC) combats the blighting influence of vacant and abandoned properties on our community while providing quality, affordable home ownership opportunities to low and moderate-income first-time home buyers in the City of Rochester and Monroe County. RHDFC is the developer of homes through the award-winning HOME Rochester program and collaborates with multiple community partners to rehabilitate approximately 20 vacant homes annually for home ownership. Through HOME Rochester, more than 750 vacant and/or abandoned zombie properties in the City of Rochester have been rehabilitated as quality, affordable, home ownership opportunities. RHDFC is expanding this work to include vacant properties located in Monroe County.
