The Landmark Society of Western New York, Inc., is one of the oldest and most active preservation organizations in America. It is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to protecting the unique architectural heritage of our region and promoting preservation and planning practices that foster healthy, livable, and sustainable communities. The Landmark Society's service area covers nine Western New York counties.
We partner with people like YOU to help save the places that matter in our communities. Historic and older places--whether it's a neighborhood, a downtown commercial building, a barn, a home, a cemetery, park, or bridge--play a vital role in our communities. These places tell the stories of who we are and where we've been but they also support our local economies, our social fabric, and our collective culture.
Our Old House Help program is one way we provide direct support to you. Old House Help is a new program designed to help homeowners navigate old house maintenance and care. Program elements include: Homeowner Tax Credit Application Services, Preservation Board Assistance, Informational Webinars & Workshops, and Contractor Referrals.
In order to make this program accessible to a wider audience, we offer scholarships to homeowners that meet certain income restrictions. Through these scholarships, old-house owners can hire our staff--for free!--to help them navigate the repair and maintenance of their homes. This scholarship program was initially funded with generous sponsor support but we need YOUR help to continue to offer our complimentary services to those in need.
The more YOU give, the more places we can save! THANK YOU for your generous support!
We focus on: Community Benefit and Economic Development, Arts and Culture
